Zyrtec Australia has teamed up with celebrity mother of two, Phoebe Burgess, to raise awareness of the causes and symptoms of childhood allergic rhinitis, through a new campaign by Publicis Group Australia.
The hay fever relief and allergy treatment brand has worked with Phoebe to produce a new storybook aimed at parents or carers with children under the age of six, called Zach and Zoe’s Hide and Sneeze . The story was inspired by her experience growing up with allergic rhinitis and will be provided as a free gift with the purchase of Zyrtec products at select pharmacies.
Allergic rhinitis results in symptoms that can include sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes. Although most Australians have heard of hay fever, allergic rhinitis symptoms can be triggered by dust, pet dander and mold throughout the year.
While research suggests that children are about as likely to have allergies as adults (56% vs. 58%), a recent survey of 1,000 Australian parents conducted by Zyrtec found that nearly 40% were completely allergic. Types are not aware of common allergens that can be. Affects children. Allergic rhinitis symptoms can be confused with the common cold. Considering that allergic rhinitis can be administered, it can cost hundreds of dollars each year to withdraw your children from daycare due to misdiagnosis of symptoms.
With bedtime stories becoming part of the routine of many young families, Zyrtec recognized an opportunity to participate in the nighttime ritual and for parents to use the book to open up conversations about allergies with their children. Help fill the knowledge gap.
Oliver Wright, Director of the Self Care Business Unit at Keno Australia, said, “Zertec Storytime seeks to close the awareness gap in parents of allergic rhinitis, which can potentially lead to symptom confusion and misdiagnosis. Our research According to Zach and Zoe’s Hide and Sneeze and Publicis Groupe, two-thirds of Australian parents have withdrawn their child from school or daycare due to allergic rhinitis-related symptoms Through the combined campaign, we are excited to use the bedtime story tradition as an opportunity for families to learn about allergic rhinitis through imaginative storytelling.
Helge Gruettke, Chief Client Officer with Publicis Groupe Australia, said, “The Zyrtec Storytime campaign is a great example of what can be achieved by combining collaboration, creativity and multi-channel expertise. This awareness campaign in clear insight has roots that many parents can relate to, providing them with an opportunity to discuss the effects of allergies with their children through entertaining storytelling, and after three years of partnering with Kenvue, we are excited to continue the initiative Give and continue to find new ways to bring the power of daily care to their consumers.
A multifaceted national campaign will include healthcare professional packages for pharmacists to distribute to parents to create a voice and provide education. It will also be supported by PR activity and a content and social media partnership with independent women’s media group, Mamamia.
